Late summer it’s pear season. Bartlett pear usually arrives first which you can find them in most of your local grocery stores and farmers market. As for me, granny’s got a huge pear tree in her back yard and we just have too many pears. These pears are the juiciest and sweetest pears I’ve ever tasted. Every bite is a burst of flavour and I can almost taste the rich heart-loving and immune boosting flavonols in them. Why pears are good for you? When pear reaches its full ripeness, you can use it as natural sweetener in your recipes, creating beautiful flavours without the nasty refined sugar.
