Breaking News: 2 Important Vitamins You Don’t Know You Are Missing

Vitamin N

This vitamin stands for the nature or the outdoors. We put ourselves at risk for vitamin N deficiency when we spend our days indoors, which can be very easy because we can manage almost any task online these days.

Function

Vitamin N is proven to be beneficial to memory, promotes weight loss and de-stresses the mind and body. When you take in the nature on a sunny day, you also get a nice dose of vitamin D which helps to boost the immune system and build healthy bones.

Sources

Getting vitamin N is easier than you think, even when you don’t have the time to drive out of the city.

  • Route your walks and errands through a small park or a street with trees and gardens

  • Bring a piece of nature home with you, whether you choose to buy a pot of fresh herb for your kitchen, treat yourself with a bunch of tulips, or get a small succulent plant for your office, surrounding yourself with something from the nature boosts your mood and attention span

  • Take your lunch break outside and bring a friend to enjoy vitamin N together

Vitamin L

This vitamin is known as the love. I didn’t make this up myself. In fact, this is a term coined by humanologist Bethany Argisle.

Function

Vitamin L is proven to boost your level of happiness by stimulating the release of happiness hormones, such as oxytocin for bonding, and dopamine and endorphin for joy and contentment. Having enough happiness hormones circulating in your body helps to destroy stress and anxiety, and is crucial for healthy digestion.

Sources

You can get your Vitamin L through simple things:

  • Practice a random act of kindness. It doesn’t have to be something significant, simply exchange a smile with your neighbour or donate a dollar to worthy causes at your local grocery store because they often select charities such as the children’s hospital or a local garden.

  • Practice present-moment gratitude. As you carry on with your day, pause for a minute or two and take mental notes on the things you are grateful for. It can be as simple as appreciating the sense of restoration when you take the first sip of your morning coffee.

  • Offer a hug. This small act can relieve stress and anxiety symptoms by stimulating the natural production of the happiness hormones mentioned above.

Happy April Fool’s Day!

I know you won’t be able to incorporate these vitamins into your daily diet, but they are nonetheless crucial for your health and well-being. I hope you get plenty of love and happiness everyday!
